Performance Assessment

coursecata

mystudies

The bachelor's program encompasses a variety of courses, workshop training, engineering tools, laboratory practice, and the bachelor's thesis. The corresponding credit points will only be issued upon successful completion of each prescribed assessment.

Dependent upon individual curriculum components, various assessment formats are used to determine the students’ knowledge and skills, e.g. oral or written examinations, essays and other written papers, confirmation of in-class participation, or evidence of work completed during individual study.

Examination results are always recorded as graded marks, while other assessments may be graded as pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

Take note of examination details (types and deadlines) in the link to the right.

Exam registration/deregistration

You may register or deregister for exams (end-of-semester as well as session type) online, via myStudies. The deadlines are listed in the ETH Academic Calendar.

If you have not cancelled an exam and do not show up the exam is failed. Admission to exams is usually announced by the lecturer via Testat (confirmation of attendance). For this reason, make sure you check towards the end of the semester in myStudies to ensure you have all of the confirmations needed.
Information regarding the semester end examinations of other departments must be sought via their Student Offices.
