Biography

Thomas Rösgen is Full Professor of Fluid Dynamics at the Intitute of Fluid Dynamics of ETH Zurich since June 1, 1997.
He studied engineering physics at the Technical University Berlin, Germany and received a Ph.D. in aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, USA). Before he came to ETH, he worked as a staff engineer in various functions for ESA-ESTEC, the technology research center of the European Space Agency ESA (Noordwijk, Netherlands) and at the Institute for Space Systems, Stuttgart University (Stuttgart, Germany).
The research activities of T. Rösgen are focused on the field of modern electro-optical diagnostics and image processing with applications in fluid dynamics. Further areas of interest are the physics of fluids as well as environmental flow phenomena and biofluidics.
