Various prizes are awarded at the ETH Zurich for outstanding achievement. Information on prizes administered by the Rector’s office.

ETH-Medal

Outstanding doctoral studies are rewarded by a silver medal from the ETH and prize money of CHF 2’000.

ABB Research Prize

The ABB Research Prize is awarded for outstanding doctoral study in the following specialist areas:

  • Energy Engineering
  • Information and Automation Engineering

Hilti Prize

The Hilti Prize is an award of CHF 5’000 for doctoral study undertaken at the ETH Zurich which brilliantly relates the scientific content with its practical application.

Students, doctoral students and assistants of engineering and physics may apply.

Otto Jaag Water Conservation Prize

The Otto Jaag Water Conservation Prize is awarded to diploma and doctoral students at the ETH Zurich for outstanding work on water conservation and hydrology.

Generally only one person is selected for this award; two in an exceptional case.
