Austrian State Prize for best dissertation

Florian Kogelbauer from Prof. George Haller’s group has received the prestigious Austrian Award of Excellence for his dissertation entitled “Some Topics in Mathematical Water Wave Theory”. Hearty congratulations to Florian Kogelbauer for his achievements!

Florian Kogelbauer completed his dissertation at the Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Vienna prior to joining the Institute of Mechanical Systems at ETH Zurich as a postdoc in 2016. He is currently working on developing nonlinear model reduction principles for continuum vibrations.
