D-MAVT and ZHdK students analyzed the walnut oil production in the western part of Nepal on-site. Based on their research the development project MITO was launched in a collaboration between Helvetas and pd|z. MITO aims to process a family’s entire harvest in just one day with a bicycle-operated module. Without electricity it crushes the nuts, separates the kernel from the shell and presses the valuable oil.
