Brendan Bulfin appointed Professor
Brendan Bulfin, senior researcher in the Renewable Energy Carriers group of Professor Aldo Steinfeld at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering, was appointed to an Associate Professor (Lectureship) position in Sustainable Materials at University College Cork, Ireland.
Bulfin has worked at D-MAVT since autumn 2017. Before he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Solar Research of the German Aerospace Center. As of 1 August 2023, he is appointed to a faculty position titled Lectureship in Sustainable Materials, equivalent to Associate Professor, at University College Cork, Ireland.
In his research, Bulfin focuses on multi-phase thermochemistry and materials science in the area of redox oxides. He holds a doctoral degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Dublin.
