Manera and Hutter appointed members of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences

Annalisa Manera and Marco Hutter, professors at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering at ETH Zurich have been elected full members of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences.

Annalisa Manera is Professor of Nuclear Systems and Multi-phase Flows at the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering (D-MAVT) of ETH Zurich. She was elected full member of the Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW) for "her research into nuclear reactor safety and her knowledgeable public contributions to explaining complex interrelated issues associated with nuclear energy", as the SATW writes in its press release of 5 March 2024.

Marco Hutter is professor at the Robotic Systems Lab at D-MAVT. He was appointed full member for his research in the field of autonomous walking robots and his commitment as co-founder of various robotics start-ups.

A total of fourteen members have been appointed for the current year, three of whom are from ETH Zurich.
